1697C Shilling, Transposed Sottish and Irish Arms

S- (3499), ESC 1174 (1097). William III 1697 First Bust shilling of Chester with transposed arms of Scotland and Ireland. Not listed in the standard catalogue, but known to exist as it was listed in ESC and there was an example in the Jackson Kent sale (1965). Very rare, and the first I have seen. Comes with an old unidentified ticket.

Holed for suspension and aggressively polished. Dark tone.
